Welcome to The Pride Center at AVC!
Our Mission and Goal:
Antelope Valley College remains committed to providing equal access, education, and opportunity to all students, especially welcoming students with diverse sexual orientations or gender identities. We aim to provide a secure environment for students whose identities include but are not limited to: Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual and Two Spirits (LGBTQIA2S+) and their allies. Through a variety of educational opportunities, campus events and community resources, we celebrate diversity within the context of sex, gender and sexual identities.
Our goal is to increase cultural awareness regarding all the intersections of identity while promoting equity from a local, national, and global community standpoint. The resources provided serve as a guide are aimed to be a base guideline and support system, as we consistently work towards highlighting new voices and experiences from LGBTQIA2S+ community members.

Candlelight Vigil to Honor Lives Lost on Transgender Remembrance Day
Wednesday: November 20, 2024, Location: Administration Flagpole from 5:00pm – 6:00pm
The Antelope Valley College Pride Center will be holding a candlelight vigil to honor and remember those whose lives have been tragically lost due to anti-transgender violence.
Transgender Remembrance Day is observance within the LGBTQIA+ community, dedicated to acknowledging the impact of transphobia and violence against transgender individuals.
The vigil will serve as a time to reflect on the importance of acceptance, respect, and equality, and to stand in solidarity with the transgender community.
The AVC community is invited to come together to celebrate the lives of those lost and reaffirm our commitment to creating a world free from violence and discrimination.
