Order of Priority Enrollment at AVC

The three Student Success Steps are: Orientation, Guided Self-Placement (GSP), and Student Education Plan.

State Mandated Priority Enrollment

The groups below must have completed all three of the Student Success Steps. Otherwise, the AVC priorities below will apply based on completed Student Success Steps.

  • OSD, EOPS, CalWORKS , Veterans, Active Military and Foster Youth

AVC Priority Enrollment

The following categories must have completed all three of the Student Success Steps:

  • STAR, AVC 2 CSU, Admitted to B.S. and FYE
  • Honors Students
  • Prospective AVC Graduate Candidates
  • Athletes, SOAR High School, ASO Officers, Student Trustee
  • Paraprofessionals / AVC Employees
  • HS Seniors (Summer/Fall semesters only)
  • Continuing AVC Students with three Student Success Steps
  • New and Returning AVC Students with three Student Success Steps

The following categories must have completed two of the Student Success Steps:

  • Continuing AVC Students with two Student Success Steps
  • New and Returning AVC Students with two Student Success Steps
  • AA / AS Degree or Higher

The following categories must have completed one of the Student Success Steps:

  • Continuing AVC Students with one Student Success Step
  • New and Returning AVC Students with one Student Success Step

The following categories must have completed none of the Student Success Steps:

  • Continuing AVC Students with no Student Success Steps
  • New and Returning AVC Students with no Student Success Steps

Not Eligible for Priority Enrollment Appointment

Students who fall into the following categories WILL NOT receive a Priority Enrollment appointment. An appeal process is available through Admissions and Records.

  • Students who have completed more than 100 degree applicable units
  • Students on second semester Academic Probation, second semester Progress Probation, Dismissed Students
  • Foster youth 24 years and younger are exempt from academic standing and unit limitations.

All priority groups will be based on total units completed in descending order, then alphabetically (rotating each term).
