Student Development: Student Clubs & Organizations

All registered students are eligible for membership in the clubs and organizations of their choice. Students are encouraged to form additional clubs and organizations to meet special needs or interests.  All new clubs and organizations are a part of the Inter-Club Council (ICC) after approval from the Board of Trustees.  Having a minimum of 10 students, faculty advisor and completing the necessary paperwork is all that is needed to begin.  The Student Development Office, located in the HUB assists all clubs in processing paperwork and maintaining all the club's financial records and banking needs.

  • A2MEND Club

    • Advisor:  Richard Biritwum, richard.biritwum@avc.edu

    • Meetings: Bi-monthly on Friday's at 12:00p.m in HUB - Umoja Village

    • Club Focus:  To advocate for the academic, psychological, and spiritual development of Black male students, faculty, staff, and administrators within educational systems.

  • Anthropology Club

    • Advisor:  Darcy Wiewall, darcy.wiewall@avc.edu

    • Meetings: Weekly on Friday's at 11:00a.m in UH - 223 Anthropology Lab

    • Club Focus:  To provide students of all academic backgrounds and fields of study the opportunity to explore the discipline of anthropology in all its facets:  archaeological, cultural, biological, and linguistic. Thereby, sponsoring original research opportunities, open lectures, forums, and activities related to the discipline.

  • AVC Gamers Club

    • Advisor:  Francisco Fuentes, francisco.fuentes@avc.edu

    • Meetings: Bi-monthly on Tuesday's at 3:00p.m in CH - 244

    • Club Focus:  The AVC Gamers Club provides a welcoming community for students to participate in competitive and non-competitive gaming events and social gatherings.

  • AVC Rotaract

    • Advisor:  John Vento, john.vento@avc.edu

    • Meetings: Monthly on Tuesday's at 4:30p.m in CH - 132

    • Club Focus:  The AVC Rotaract Club empowers young adults to take action through community and international service, develop leadership skills, engage in professional growth, and embrace cultural diversity while gaining a global perspective. 

  • Black Student Union

    • Advisors:  Dr. Scott Lee, scott.lee@avc.edu

    • Meetings: Second Thursday of the month at 4:00p.m in the Library

    • Club Focus:  The Black Student Union (BSU) fosters unity, cultural pride, and awareness among Black students. We provide a safe space for support, empowerment, and open dialogue, while educating the broader community about Black history, culture, and current issues. BSU is committed to uplifting all people and building a unified community.

  • Business Club

    • Club Focus:  To enhance marketing skills and foster a safe environment where students can openly discuss their business goals.

  • CNSA Club

    • Club Focus:  The CNSA Club fosters professional behavior and supports the transition from student to professional nurse through leadership, activism, and advocacy.

  • Deaf Studies Association

    • Club Focus:  To create a welcoming space for new and beginning students interested in expanding their awareness and understanding of Deaf culture.

  • Ekkleisa Campus Ministry

    • Club Focus:  To promote the gospel and foster spiritual growth within the campus community.

  • Electronics Club

    • Club Focus:  To provide students with hands-on experience in soldering, electronics repair, and troubleshooting. Members develop practical skills, collaborate on personal and group projects, and assist others in repairing broken electronics.

  • Film & Television Club

    • Club Focus:  The Film & Television Club brings together aspiring filmmakers and enthusiasts to connect personally and professionally. We celebrate the art of creating, watching, and loving movies and television, while supporting members in building skills and advancing their careers.

  • Literature Club

    • Club Focus:  To create a welcoming space for literature enthusiasts to connect, share ideas, and promote literacy across the campus community.

  • Marauder Cheerleading

    • Club Focus:  To promote school spirit and pride at Antelope Valley College by supporting athletic teams and campus events. We represent AVC positively on and off campus while helping members grow in leadership, teamwork, discipline, and athletic ability.

  • Marauders Racing Club

    • Club Focus:  To provide hands-on experience in motorsports and raise awareness of the field through collaborative projects, events, and educational outreach.

  • Native American Student Council

  • Photo Club

    • Club Focus:  To connect local photographers and foster creativity and skill development. We promote fellowship and provide mentorship to support beginner photographers on their journey of growth.

  • Pre-Law Club

    • Club Focus:  To promote diversity and expand access to higher education in the legal field. It provides students with valuable skills and experiences to prepare for future careers, while fostering character development and a strong sense of community engagement.

  • Psychology Student Organization

    • Club Focus:  To support the academic pursuits of our members by facilitating psychology-related activities and promoting the study and understanding of psychology.

  • Queer Pride Club

  • Rushing Wind AVC

    • Club Focus:  Rushing Wind AVC seeks to deepen understanding of Christ by providing a safe space for questions, open discussion, and spiritual growth. We aim to build a united, welcoming community rooted in faith.

  • Society of Women Engineers

    • Advisor:  Ellen McIsaac, ellen.mcisaac@avc.edu

    • Club Focus:  The AVC Society of Women Engineers empowers and supports women in STEM by fostering a community that values diversity, inclusion, and excellence. Through networking, mentorship, and professional development opportunities, we encourage growth and leadership in STEM fields.

  • Umoja Club

    • Advisor:  Cierra Gooden, cierra.gooden@avc.edu

    • Meetings: Weekly on Wednesday's at 1:15p.m in the Umoja Village inside the HUB

    • Club Focus:  The Umoja Club provides a supportive and welcoming environment where students can connect with others who share similar experiences, fostering unity and a sense of belonging.  

  • Welding Club

    • Meetings: Bi-monthly on Monday's at 11:30a.m and Thursday's at 12:30p.m in DL - Conference Room

    • Club Focus: The Welding Club builds a strong community of students passionate about hands-on experience, while promoting creativity, innovation, and skill development in welding.
