EOPS

Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) is a California Community College program to assist educationally disadvantaged students with financial need who want to attend college. The Antelope Valley College EOPS program receives state and district funds to recruit, enroll, and support these students that may not otherwise seek higher education.

CARE

Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE) is a program within EOPS for students who are single parents.  EOPS provides additional student support services to assist CARE students in reaching their academic and personal career goals.

NextUp

The NextUp program is housed within EOPS, and offers eligible current and former foster youth support and services while attending a California Community College.

Guardian Scholars

The Guardian Scholars Program aims to connect current and former foster youth with a support system to help develop the tools needed to succeed in, through, and beyond college.

The mission of the Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) program is to support the primary goals of recruiting, retaining, and transitioning students who have language, social, economic, and/or educational disadvantages.  The program provides student support delivery service and programs which are “over, above, and in addition” to the regular programs and services offered by the college.
