Accessing Outlook

Microsoft Outlook web can be accessed through different paths;

  • Sign into AVC ID Single Sign-On PortalLinks to an external site. then click on Outlook in Microsoft 365 button

  • From myAVC click "AVC ID - Single Sign On" link in the Shortcuts menu block (left hand menu) then click the "Outlook in Microsoft 365" icon.
  • Sign directly into Outlook website in the upper right corner click sign in link, then enter your AVC email address
  • Use the Microsoft Outlook mobile app on your mobile device ( iOS App StoreGoogle Play )

Email Signature

To edit your email signature open Outlook 365 in your web browser.

Next click the settings gear in the upper right corner of the Outlook tool.

Click on "Compose and reply".

You may set up more than one signature if you wish.

The edit box allows you to add text and picture.

Please remember to follow the guidelines on the Marketing and Public Information pageLinks to an external site. listed as Email SignatureLinks to an external site. under the Resources header. A sample signature is located on the Email Signature pageLinks to an external site..

Remember to set your default signatures for New Messages, and Replies/Forwards.

The settings need to be saved when changed.

Vacation Responder

To edit your email signature open Outlook 365 in your web browser.

Next click the settings gear in the upper right corner of the Outlook tool.

Click on “Automatic Replies”.

Click the switch to "Turn on automatic replies".

Use the checkbox "Send replies only during a time period" to enter the date and times that you want the automated reply sent out.

Next there are three check boxes for options you may choose such as blocking your calendar for this period, declining new invitations for events, and declining and cancelling meetings. 

After these options is the editing box to type a message that you would like sent out. 
It is recommended to include the projected date you will be back, and an alternate contact that can be reached to address any concerns. 

Below the editing box are two option check boxes. The first allows the auto reply to be sent to addresses outside of the organization. (Students will receive the reply if they email you as they are part of the organization.) 
The second checkbox restricts the outside sending to only those parties listed in your contacts. 

Remember to click Save at the bottom of the dialog window, or Discard if you do not want to save your work. 

Rules (Filters)

Outlook 365 can filter emails to different folders, the trash, or forwarding using Rules.
