Accreditation Steering Committee
The Accreditation Steering Committee reviews, gathers and describes the college's efforts in meeting or exceeding the accreditation standards set by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACCJC/WASC), an institutional accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Self Study Philosophy Statement
We at Antelope Valley College view the accreditation process as an opportunity for reflection and self-examination through which we seek to refine our programs and services, improve student learning, recognize our strengths, and identify areas that need strengthening. If we are to fulfill these goals, we must conduct our self-examination honestly, openly, collaboratively, and objectively.
The self-study process provides an opportunity to manifest a sense of common purpose and unity throughout the campus community. Therefore, the process by which we create a self-study report is as valuable as the document that is produced.
