ITS: Scheduled Outages
- Friday, February 11, 2010 7AM - 10AM
As required to facilitate electrical upgrades on campus, all services associated with the Banner database system, including registration, grade submission, access to myAVC, Blackboard, and Degreeworks, will be unavailable from 7AM until 10AM on Friday, February 12th, 2010. Camups network serives will also be unavailable at that time. Campus telephone service and public websites will not be affected by this outage.
- Thursday, February 18, 2010 3:30PM - midnight
Servers will be patched with their latest updates, and there will be rolling server reboots. Because college services will still be open and classes will be in session for some of this time, we will not work on any servers actively used by various users until after their services close for the day or until after the scheduled time for the last class on campus for the evening. The servers that are patched while the campus is active will not impact classes or services offered by the college. After 10:15PM, web services that are available off campus such as myAVC, email, and all college websites, as well as network resources on campus such as printing and network shares, will be briefly unavailable as the servers that provide these services reboot. All systems will be back up and operational in time for classes on Friday morning.
- Friday, February 19, 2010 Early morning
Windows Updates for all employee workstations will be made available on Tuesday, February 16th about noon. These updates will automatically install and reboot these computers the following Friday morning at 12:01AM if they are not installed earlier by the user. Any computers that are turned off Friday morning at 12:01AM will automatically install and restart if they need these updates when they are next turned on.
These updates will also be sent to computers in classrooms so your Lab Technician or Computer Technician may install these updates during the week of February 16th. Please talk with your technician to see if your classroom's computers need to be left on so they will get their patches.
